Flipper Kenaga

Flipper Kenaga is a tattoo artist based in Orange County, California, specializing in American Traditional, lettering, floral work, and bold lineweight designs.

Drawing has been a lifelong passion, and the pursuit of a creative career eventually led him down an unexpected path. At 17 years old, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he received his first tattoo and was introduced to the rich history and traditions of tattooing within military culture. The experience sparked a deep appreciation for American Traditional tattooing and the stories, milestones, and memories tattoos can represent.

While serving on active duty, Flipper immersed himself in tattoo culture, collecting magazines, attending conventions, and studying the craft whenever possible. His dedication led to an apprenticeship in September 2017, which he completed while still serving in the military. After transitioning back to civilian life, he pursued tattooing full-time and has continued to develop his craft ever since.

Over the years, Flipper has worked in multiple tattoo shops throughout California and has had the opportunity to guest spot across the state. Today, he tattoos at Dark Heritage Tattoo, where he works alongside several artists who helped shape him early in his career and continue to inspire him today.

Whether it’s a timeless American Traditional piece, bold lettering, floral work, or custom designs, Flipper strives to create tattoos that are built to last and carry meaning for the people who wear them.

Availability:

Yes! I am currently accepting new clients. Whether it’s your first tattoo or your fiftieth, I’m always happy to answer questions and help guide you through the process. My goal is to make every client feel comfortable, informed, and excited about their tattoo experience from consultation to completion.

Travel/Guest Spot: 

Every year I attend Creep I.E. convention hosted in Ontario California for tattooing.
I guest spot occasionally in Oceanside California and the East Bay Area as well(Fremont, Ca).
